The windturbine by the main stage at Glastonbury Festival in 1994 and 1995 was arranged by EcoGen. It was a working Bonus 150kW machine connected to the stage power supply in parallel with the diesel generator.
Sited at the bottom of the valley its purpose was more to raise the profile of wind power, which was then very much in its infancy, rather than to maximise power generation. As it turned out the weather was too good for a turbine in such a location to contribute much power - not that anybody was complaining!
