Construction Management in an animal park
EcoGen were asked to manage the construction of this site located in an animal park and adjacent agricultural land which, though consented, offered many challenges in bringing the project to fruition.
We advised and supported our client in the negotiation of turbine and civils contracts, land leases and the site’s grid connection and were responsible throughout the construction phase for the planning condition discharges and employer’s representative role. At all times special consideration was given to maintaining access through the animal park while complying with zoo regulations and minimising any impact on the day-to-day running of the park, while additional measures were required to ensure the local television reception was not impacted by the project.
Today, EcoGen acts as asset manager of the site ensuring that both the required routine tasks are completed efficiently and safely and that the site’s long term performance and lifecycle planning are effectively managed. Within our current role we have consulted on and installed measures to manage and control both shadow flicker and noise and have acted as our client’s liaison with the local authority on these issues.More information about the services EcoGen provides to this and other renewable energy projects can be found in Services.
